The label01
What are the Focus Factor ingredients?
The Focus Factor ingredients are a vitamin and mineral panel and a proprietary blend. The form is a tablet, and a serving is 4 tablets, up to 8 a day. Synergy CHC owns the brand.
| Line | Amount |
|---|---|
| Vitamin B6 | 15 mg |
| Vitamin B12 | 20 mcg |
| Biotin | 300 mcg |
| Magnesium | 100 mg |
| Proprietary blend | 640 mg |

The blend02
What is in the 640 mg blend, and why does dose transparency matter?
The blend names DMAE, L-glutamine, bacopa extract, phosphatidylserine, DHA concentrate, inositol, N-acetyl tyrosine, bilberry, GABA, grape and grape seed extracts, vinpocetine, huperzine A, boron and vanadium. Dose transparency matters because the amounts are not printed.
Count those items and you reach 15. A flat split would give about 43 mg each, which is surely not how it works. Per tablet, the blend is 160 mg in all.
The rule behind this allows a total and an order of predominance, not single weights (eCFR, 21 CFR 101.36). The legal practice is the same one Synaptril uses, so we apply it to both.
Public record03
Has the FTC acted on Focus Factor?
Yes, in 2004, against two companies that then sold it. The FTC announced proposed settlements on March 17, 2004 with Vital Basics, Inc. and Creative Health Institute, Inc.
The FTC alleged unsupported claims about memory, focus and concentration, and undisclosed ties to endorsers. Vital Basics agreed to pay 1 million dollars in redress and Creative Health Institute 60,000 dollars, with no admission of wrongdoing.
Those companies predate the current owner. The record tells you how the FTC treats such claims (FTC, Health Products Compliance), not what is on today's bottle.

How does the Focus Factor label compare with Synaptril's?
Focus Factor is a multivitamin-style label with a blend added, and Synaptril is a magnesium label with a blend added. Both hide single blend amounts.
- Focus Factor needs 4 tablets a serving. Synaptril is one capsule a day.
- Focus Factor prints doses for its vitamins. Synaptril prints one, magnesium at 80 mg.
- Neither label shows a trial of the finished product.

FAQ05
Focus Factor label questions
How many Focus Factor tablets are in a serving?
Four tablets make a serving on the maker's page, and the label allows up to 8 a day. That is more pills than a one-capsule product. Count the servings in your bottle before you compare the cost per day.
Who owns Focus Factor?
Synergy CHC, listed on NASDAQ as SNYR, according to the brand's site. The 2004 FTC settlements involved earlier sellers, Vital Basics and Creative Health Institute, so they say little about how the brand is run today.
What did the FTC say about Focus Factor in 2004?
The FTC announced proposed settlements over memory, focus and concentration claims that it said lacked enough support, and over undisclosed ties to endorsers. The companies paid without admitting wrongdoing. It is a 2004 record.
Does Focus Factor contain vinpocetine?
Yes, the maker's page lists vinpocetine in the proprietary blend, along with huperzine A and others. The single amount is not printed. Ask a pharmacist before taking a blend like this if you use any prescription.
Is a multivitamin-style label easier to read?
Partly. The vitamin and mineral lines show doses and Daily Values, so they are easy to check. The blend is not, so the focus-related items remain unmeasured. Read each part separately.
How much magnesium is in Focus Factor?
The maker's page lists 100 mg per 4 tablets, in the vitamin panel. Synaptril lists 80 mg of magnesium per capsule, as glycinate. Check the form on each label, because forms are absorbed differently (NIH ODS, Magnesium).
