Synaptril vs Other Brain Supplements: A Side-by-Side Label Comparison
Synaptril vs other brain supplements is mostly a difference in ingredients. Synaptril is one capsule a day with 80 mg of magnesium and a 575 mg blend of six ingredients, mostly magnesium glycinate. Prevagen centers on apoaequorin, Neuriva on coffee fruit extract and phosphatidylserine, and Alpha BRAIN, Focus Factor and Dynamic Brain on wider blends. None has proven memory benefits.

At a glance01
How does Synaptril compare with other brain supplements?
Synaptril compares as a simple, magnesium-led capsule. Most well-known brain supplements use different main ingredients, and several take two or more pills a day.
We read each product's public label and put the same facts side by side: form, daily serving, what is disclosed and the main ingredients. We do not rate or rank brands, and we do not list other brands' prices, which change often.
Labels change, so check the bottle in your hand.
| Product | Form and daily serving | Amounts disclosed? | Main ingredients |
|---|---|---|---|
| Synaptril | 1 vegetable capsule; 30 per bottle | Magnesium 80 mg; 575 mg blend total only | Magnesium glycinate, alpha lipoic acid, butcher's broom, L-carnitine, turmeric, CoQ10 |

Disclosure02
Which brain supplements disclose full doses?
Of the six, Prevagen and Neuriva Original print an amount for every active ingredient. Synaptril, Alpha BRAIN, Focus Factor and Dynamic Brain use proprietary blends.
A blend only has to show its total weight and the order of its ingredients, from most to least (eCFR, 21 CFR 101.36). That is legal, but it makes dose checks harder. You cannot match a hidden amount against the dose used in a study.
Synaptril prints one amount: 80 mg of magnesium, 19% of the Daily Value. Simple label math fills in part of the rest. Pure magnesium glycinate is about 14% magnesium (Magnesium glycinate, Mg content), so the glycinate likely takes about 570 mg of the 575 mg blend. Even in a generous case, the other five share at most 175 mg.
FTC guidance says a product's claims should match the dose and form that were studied (FTC, Health Products Compliance). Full disclosure lets you make that check yourself.
Synaptril vs Prevagen03
Does Synaptril use the same ingredients as Prevagen?
No. The two share no active ingredient. Prevagen is built on apoaequorin; Synaptril is built mostly on magnesium glycinate.
Prevagen Regular Strength lists 10 mg of apoaequorin and 50 mcg of vitamin D in one daily capsule. The company's other strengths hold up to 40 mg of apoaequorin (Prevagen, Regular Strength).
Synaptril lists 80 mg of magnesium plus a blend of alpha lipoic acid, butcher's broom, L-carnitine, turmeric and CoQ10. Both are taken once a day, which is about the only thing their labels have in common.
Other brands04
How is Synaptril different from Neuriva, Alpha BRAIN, Focus Factor and Dynamic Brain?
Synaptril leans on a mineral and antioxidant mix, while these four lean on classic brain-supplement ingredients such as phosphatidylserine, bacopa or huperzine A.
Phosphatidylserine shows up in all four of them. None of Synaptril's six ingredients appears on the Neuriva Original label. Magnesium appears on two others: Dynamic Brain lists 42 mg as magnesium oxide (Stonehenge Health, Dynamic Brain), and Focus Factor lists 100 mg per four tablets.
Serving size differs too. Synaptril and Neuriva Original are one capsule. Alpha BRAIN and Dynamic Brain are two capsules, and Focus Factor is four tablets.
Neuriva Original
Two disclosed ingredients, 100 mg each: coffee fruit extract and phosphatidylserine (Neuriva Original label (Schiff)).
Alpha BRAIN
Vitamin B6 plus three blends, including alpha GPC and Huperzia serrata (Onnit, Alpha BRAIN).
Focus Factor
A multivitamin panel plus a 640 mg blend with DMAE, bacopa and vinpocetine.
Dynamic Brain
Vitamins and minerals plus a 745 mg blend with bacopa and lion's mane (Stonehenge Health, Dynamic Brain).

See packsEvidence06
Does any brain supplement have better evidence than the others?
No. No brain supplement has conclusive evidence for preventing memory decline, so no brand stands out on evidence.
NCCIH reviewed the research and found no supplement that clearly prevents cognitive decline or dementia (NCCIH, Supplements and cognition). The Global Council on Brain Health does not recommend any supplement or formula for brain health (AARP GCBH, Brain health supplements).
No trial has tested Synaptril. Its front label says "Enhances Memory & Focus*", and the asterisk means FDA has not evaluated the claim (FDA, Dietary supplements Q and A). The fairest comparison between brands is the label itself: what is in it, how much, and how clearly it is shown.
How to compare07
What should you compare between two brain supplements?
Compare the label first: the full ingredient list, the amount of each ingredient, the daily serving and the cost per day.
Then check safety: an easy capsule is no help if it clashes with your medicine.
Ingredients and amounts
Are amounts printed, or hidden in a blend? Do they match studied doses?
Serving and cost per day
Divide the price by the days a bottle lasts at the label's serving.
Who makes it
Is a manufacturer, distributor or testing lab named? Synaptril's label names a distributor, Gluco Elixir of Aurora, Colorado, but no manufacturer.
Medicine clashes
CoQ10 may counteract warfarin (MSKCC, Coenzyme Q10); magnesium needs a gap from some antibiotics (NIH ODS, Magnesium).
Refund terms
Synaptril has a 60-day money-back guarantee; buyers pay return shipping.
Cost08
How much does Synaptril cost per day?
Synaptril costs about $2.97 a day on the 2-bottle pack, $2.40 on the 3-bottle pack and $1.63 on the 6-bottle pack.
That is $89, $72 or $49 a bottle, and each bottle lasts 30 days at one capsule a day (Synaptril sales page). No single bottle is sold. We do not quote other brands' prices, but you can compare the same way: divide the bottle price by the number of days it lasts.
Full pack details are on the pricing page.
Switching09
Can you switch from another brain supplement to Synaptril?
You can, but ask your doctor or pharmacist first, and avoid taking two brain products at once unless they agree.
Stacking products can double up ingredients. Magnesium is a good example: the upper limit from supplements is 350 mg a day for adults (NIH ODS, Magnesium), and multivitamins add to it. Write down every product you take and share the list.
Switching supplements should never change your prescriptions. If memory changes are new or getting worse, see a doctor; many causes are treatable (MedlinePlus, Memory loss). The full label is on the supplement facts page.
FAQ10
Synaptril comparison questions
Is Synaptril more expensive than store brands?
We cannot say for every brand, because we do not track other prices. Synaptril runs about $1.63 to $2.97 a day depending on the pack. To compare, divide any bottle's price by the days it lasts at the label's serving size.
Is Synaptril sold in stores like other brain supplements?
We know of no authorized Synaptril listing in stores or on Amazon, Walmart or eBay. Orders go through the official checkout. Listings elsewhere cannot be checked and may not be covered by the 60-day guarantee.
Which brain supplement has the most ingredients?
Of the labels we compared, Dynamic Brain and Focus Factor list the most, each with a vitamin panel and a long blend (Stonehenge Health, Dynamic Brain). More ingredients does not mean more effect. With blends, each amount can be small, and the totals are hidden.
Does Synaptril contain phosphatidylserine like Neuriva?
No. Synaptril's label does not list phosphatidylserine. Neuriva Original lists 100 mg of it alongside coffee fruit extract (Neuriva Original label (Schiff)). Synaptril's blend is magnesium glycinate, alpha lipoic acid, butcher's broom, L-carnitine, turmeric and CoQ10.
Is Synaptril a one-a-day supplement?
Yes. The label says to take one capsule daily, and a bottle holds 30. Some other brands use two capsules or four tablets per serving, so check how long each bottle lasts before comparing.
Do any of these brands have FDA approval?
No. FDA does not approve dietary supplements before they are sold, and that applies to every brand here (FDA, Dietary supplements Q and A). Makers are responsible for safety and for having support for their claims.
